Where can I find a good quality pen for a writer?
My bf writes a lot. He’s taking a freelance writing course through Penn Foster online. He wants one that writes good. It doesn’t have to be fancy.
Your comments make perfect sense. I’m definitely not a writer and I know I like it when I come across a good pen.

Most writers find pens a very personal thing . . .how it feels in the hand . . . how the pen feels as it moves across the paper . . . how the ink flows from the pen . . . the color of the ink . . .
I know that this sounds strange but many writers have a very intimate connection with what they use to write.
Take your boyfriend to an office supply store. Tell him you need something, say that you are looking for a pen for someone else or whatever. Have him help you pick one out. If he won’t help you then buy a gift card and while he is standing there, hand it to him and tell him why you are giving him the card. (My fiance is stubborn and I have had to do this with him in the past when I was trying to surprise him with something and he wasn’t helping me make the choice for him.)
BTW, I think it is a very thoughtful gift and I hope your boyfriend appreciates you as much as you appreciate him.
You could always try bookstores like Borders or Barnes&Noble. They usually have the best pens for writers along with really good journals.
