Where to find a good freelance writer?

I have been to getafreelancer, scriptlance and I did not find the right writer or group to do the project in my mind. Either they charged me very high or their quality is below from what I’m expecting. I’m looking for affordable content writers and would want to hire them on regular basis.
Any suggestions?

Finding a freelance writer is very easy or very hard, depending on what you need and how specif you are. It is like saying you want to find a good teacher. You would have to say what subject, what age level, what state/country, etc. you need the teacher. Similarly, you need to be very clear in re your requirements for a freelance writer. Do you need someone who writes movie-scripts or poetry or horror stories or biographies or what? Do you need a person with a degree and plenty of experience or would it be OK to hire a middle-school kid with good grades in English? How much would you pay? Would you sign a contract? Would you pay a retainer? Would the writer retain copyright?
Once you answer all of these questions, I will be able to help you find a freelance writer.
I share your sentiments. It’s hard to pinpoint the right people to do the job for you. Afterall, if they can’t create a good one, you won’t be making any money.
