How can I start my freelancing career?
I have no previous work. I have just started my pursuit to a freelancing writing business and I will need some sort of content in my portfolio. I’m looking for anything, preferably something that has to do video games because that is my area of expertise. But I’m willing to write about anything small. Are there any magazines asking for freelancers to write for them or small business? Who ever gives me advice that gets me an assignment gets best answer. (just for fun)

careersearch.maclenet.com – I used this site. You can compare such online job offers here.
When you start out as a freelancer, and if you don’t have experience, it’s kind of a Catch-22 situation. Here are some tips that can help you out:
1. First, create a portfolio of articles in your areas of expertise and interest.
2. Next, go to your local library and get e-mail IDs of local journals and newspapers. Send e-mail to the editors of newspapers / magazines, expressing interest that you want to contribute articles to their publications. Attach to the e-mail one or more of your best writing samples. If the editors like your writing, they will contact you.
3. Create a website / blog and upload your best writing samples to it. Promote your website.
4. Write free articles to sites like ezine.com. At the end of the article, add your bio with a link back to your site.
5. Add a link to your website in your e-mail signature.
6. Register at sites likes guru.com and elance.com and bid for freelance writing work.
Of all the types of freelance writing, freelance technical writing perhaps gives you the greatest income. Interested? Find more info at:
