Copyediting is not rocket science. To have a BA in English is more than enough.
BA in English is sufficent for a copyediting job. You need, however, to have done an internship in copyediting. If not, you need to know someone in the profession. Good copyeditors in Manhattan could earn over $60,000 a year plus with 10 years of experience and talent for pithy colorful phrases.
